Well, there's one thing about it, Jerry, when Nolan Ryan goes to the mound.

Houston may win, they may lose.

But they've got a picture out there who has the potential of throwing a no hitter at you,

a one hitter at your shotout at you.

He has that potential.

Well, he's got four no hitters to his record and has struck out over 300 batters, three or four years,

and both of those are near record.

The only man who is close to Nolan Ryan on those departments, Sandy Copac, and he retired

very young.

Ryan also is the only pitcher who has struck out more batters and innings pitch with the exception

of Copac.

And of course the injury to Copac's arm will keep him in that category for all times.

Nolan Ryan was 11 and 10 during the year, but he was double tough under the Astrodoll.

Eight and two isn't too bad this ballpark, and we mentioned it so many times before.

This is a tough part to hit a home round.

They hit them hard, they hit them high, they hit them wide, but rarely did they hit them out of here.

And that really is the greatest defense than a pitcher has here in the afterdome.
