It's Red Sox baseball time.

How do you do once again, ladies and gentlemen, from Fenway Park, the home of the Red Sox in Boston?

Tonight, game number two of this four-game series between the Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers.

Technically, the Red Sox still are in first place by less than one percentage point over the Tigers.

Actually, the two teams are in a virtual first place tie.

With Baltimore now two games out, Baltimore Idol tonight,

and the New York Yankees three and one-half games up.

The Red Sox, 13 games over 500, have a percentage of 545.

And Detroit, one up on the Red Sox in the column and one behind the red stocks in the lost column.

Also 13 over 500 have a percentage of 544.

We have a cool but comfortable night here tonight and again we have a very crisp wind.

In fact, this wind tonight will be the strongest of the last three nights, and both last time the night before.

It was a good swift wind.

Right now, it's blowing in from center field, but it's kind of a whirlpool type of wind,

and it's shifting that flag all over the flagpole in all direction from time to time.

Tonight, Billy Martin, the manager at Tigers, is going with a relief pitcher at his starting pitcher.

Chris Zachary.

He's made 22 relief appearances this year, has not started the ballgame.

Detroit has been shy of pitching, particularly starting pitching, all year long.

So is a spot starter tonight.
