Good afternoon, everybody from Yankee Stadium.

This is Frank Musser along with Bill White and Phil Rosuto,

and a twilight doubleheader between the New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers.

The Yankees idle yesterday to rest up from Sunday's Marathon Twin Bill out here at the stadium.

And in taking a day off, the Yankees gained a half a game on the Boston Red Sox

and moved into third place all by themselves as Boston dropped a six to four decision

to the Chicago White Sox last night. The Yankees trail, the division leading Detroit Tigers,

by three and a half games, three games in the lost column, which isn't as important this year

as it hasn't passed because of the

undaunted schedule. The Baltimore Orioles are in second place, one game behind Detroit, and two

and a half games in front of New York. In an effort to keep it going tonight, the Yankees will

pitch right-handers Steve Klein in the first ball game. Klein is leading the major leagues and

earned run average with a mark of 1.61.

And left-hander Mike Ketchich will go on the night gap.

The Rangers reverse the procedure with Mike Paul,

pitching in the opening ball game.

Ball has a record of six wins and five losses.

And in the nightcap, it will be a right-hander,

Dick Bosman, who has won six and lost eight.

Well, the umpires are out, along with Ralph and Ted Williams,

and Ted's the lineup looks like this.

Elliot Maddox will lead off and play center field.
