So the Canadian anthem following the national anthem, and now the Montreal Expos, take the field.

The Dodgers, when they saw the Expos in Los Angeles, were streaking. They won five straight,

finished up that homestand, winning eight out of 12. However, they then went to Philadelphia and lost two out of three.

The expos at home are doing well.

Since they beat the Dodgers at Dodgers Stadium,

they moved on to San Francisco, did pretty well up there,

and then nailed the Giants hard here.

So the expos have won six of their last nine.

The umpires are scattering now to their positions, Jerry Dale behind the plate. Tom Gorman, the veteran umpire of the crew, is at first. Chris Pelacutus is umpiring at second and Doug Harvey on the line back of third. Jim Gilliam coaching at first, Danny Ozark at third, and we're just about ready.

As far as the weather is concerned, ideal.

In fact, there is only one problem right now.

We understand that will go away shortly.

That is a pretty good breeze going from left to right.

But they tell us that it comes up in the late afternoon,

and it will

just about disappear just as soon as the sun goes down. The sun is a problem here at Jerry

Park, at least for the first inning. Ron Fairley was telling us before the ballgame that he cost

the exposes game last year, because when a ball is hit to the left side of the infield,

and the throw coming to the

first baseman is coming right out of the sun so we've all heard about the sun field but here

as jerry park in Montreal in the evening on a bright sunshine evening as we have first base is a
