series here in New England between the Orioles and the homestanding Red Sox. The Red Sox won the

opener last night by a score of two to nothing before just under 34,000 paid as Sunny's favorite defeated Jim Jim Palmer and the Red Sox right-hander also gaining his sixth consecutive wins.

Plummer, on the other hand, by losing, had his record go to five wins and two defeats.

Nagy will be making his seventh start today, his seventh start of the season,

his first this year naturally against Baltimore, his victory against the White Sox,

his defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Last year against Baltimore, he had no decision.

Mike Nagy, to be opposed by Dave McNally,

McNally, who began 1971, with four consecutive victories,

but has now lost two of his last three outings.

Both McNally's setbacks have come at the hands of the Kansas City Ball Club.

He lost to the Royals the first day of May, then again last Monday in his most recent outings.

In Monday night ballgame, he lost by a score of four to one,

as McNally worked eight innings, allowed ten base six and all four Kansas City runs.

His victory total this year includes the paranobs against California and a victory each

against Washington, Detroit, and Oakland.

All five victories, incidentally, by McNally, have been complete game victories.
