Chicago Cubs get ready to start a four-game series, the battle for second place, and the

standings of the East Division in the National League.

Both the Mets and the Cubs were very much in the running throughout the season.

But yesterday, the Pittsburgh Pirates clinched the front of the Eastern Division of the National League,

where now the battle is for second place.

The Chicago Cubs certainly are in second place, one full game ahead of the New York

Met.

for the Chicago Cup left-hander Ken Holkman.

So on a pleasant night for baseball, the New York Mets getting set to play their last series

of the season.

The Cubs have won 82 and lost 76.

The Mets one game back of the Cubs, and the Mets will have to win three out of four to tie the

Cubs for second place.

The difference for each player will be approximately $500 or $600.

The difference in finishing second or finishing third in the Eastern Division.
