Here at Yankee Stadium in New York, it's a very, very pleasant evening for baseball, not a cloud to be seen anywhere.

I heard the official temperature just a few minutes ago as being 85 degrees, it feels cooler than that, here at the

ballpark.

It will be game number three of the current series between the Yankees and the Oakland A's.

The club split a double-heder yesterday.

Oakland winning the first game eight to two.

The Yankees coming back in the nightcap, winning four to one, behind the combined strong

pitching of Stan Bonson and

Lindy McDaniel, and the booming bat of Pete Ward, who had a single and a double to drive

in three of the four Yankee runs. And, well, you won't be surprised to hear that Pete Ward

will be in the starting lineup again tonight at first base for the New York Yankees

because he did have the hot bath yesterday.

Now Sutterlmire will be on the mound tonight for New York.

Suttelmire has won eight and lost eight.
