Hello everybody, I'm coming to you from the Australia Blanca.

This is a very interesting episode with a young woman named Riva Winter, who is a friend of mine, her parents are friends of mine.

If you are an aficionado of tangentially speaking, you will know Riva's grandmother, Ginger, who was my guest back in maybe 100 episodes ago.

You may remember Ginger was working at NASA. She's like a theoretical mathematics genius.

She developed a communication system on one of the, I think the first satellite that landed on the moon.

And she also designed some of the systems in the Landsat satellites that map the surface of the earth.

So Riva comes from and Riva's mother is also a super genius.

And her father is a super genius. They're all just fucking geniuses. It's amazing.

And they're also really, really nice people. So she comes from a long line of smart, cool people.

And you'll hear it all distilled in her. She's finishing her PhD in marine biology with Andrew Baker, who was on the last episode of this podcast.

So this is sort of a continuation of the last episode, which I hope you enjoyed as well.

Seems appropriate. You know, I'm recording this on a lulling sailboat right now, which is very cool, very nautical.

And so yeah, this is the theme is the ocean, the rolling sea.

A couple of minor updates for you. It looks like I'm moving ahead with his van idea, but unbeknownst to me, the four by four sprinter van was only introduced into the American market last year.

So I'm probably not going to be able to get a used one since probably nobody selling them. They just bought them a thing if they're out there.

So that's going to cost a little more than I expected. I thought I'd save 20, 25 grand or something by getting a used one, but I really want the four by four because I want to be able to take it out on the beach and take it up off road, you know, to places where I can get away and not have to worry about getting back to the road.

I got the I had a Honda element that was driving around. I managed to get that stuck on the beach once, which was a very unhappy moment.
