Hey there, here we are in the beginning of August. I'm not really sure where this finds you today,

but I'll just give you a hint of what my day has been like already. I'm recording this in the end

of July, about 10 in the morning. I got up early, got in my garden first thing this morning before

it got too hot as I tried to do in the middle of the summer. Got a lot of garden tasks done and now I

have tomato sauce in the canter. This has been an incredible tomato year again this year. I've been

really excited about that. But one crop that I'm still kind of waiting to start to really get

into full production is my peppers. Now I have harvested some green bell peppers

for various recipes already from a couple of my plants and I've definitely harvested some

jalapinos because those tend to ripen up more quickly. But for me, the pepper harvest really doesn't

start getting full swing until around August, which is why I

thought that this would be a good time to talk about what can go wrong with peppers. If you're

growing peppers in your garden, like most home gardeners are, this is probably a time where you

are starting to see some issues. If you see any, this is probably the time of year you do. But peppers

can also pose some challenges at the beginning of the season, especially if you're starting

seeds early indoors and also the plant timing and their growth. They can present a few challenges.

I think this really does depend on where you're located, where you live. I think

those of you who have more mild summers and shorter summers might encounter different problems with

peppers than someone like me who we have a very long hot season, which peppers love. So I don't

struggle as much with peppers as you might. So definitely keep that in mind.

But what we're going to be talking about today is in general what can go wrong with peppers.

We're going to start out with seed starting and then go through planting, growing,

and then finally we'll address some pests and diseases that may crop up from time to time.
