It's a chilly but bright, sunshiny day at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, Minnesota.

and we're getting ready to bring you to play-by-play account of the first game of a four-day-four-game afternoon series

with the Minnesota Twins, who, by the way, are doing quite well. In the Western Division of the American League, they're tied with the Chicago White Sox with six wins and four losses apiece and playing six hundred ball. So it's going to be the Minnesota Twins and the Oakland A's here this afternoon. For the Twins, it will be Dean Chance, the big right-hander getting getting his first start of the year. He has no record so far. It's not only five inings appearing in one ballgame. And going for the Oakland days will be Chuck Dapson, whose record is one and one. So those are the two pitchers who will be starting in this afternoon's ball game, and we'll have the starting lineups for you in just a moment.
