From Shea Stadium in Flushing, New York.

This is Russ Taylor with Dave Van Horn

and the play-by-play broadcast of today's game

between the New York Met and the Montreale Expo.

We pinched our stowles and found out it wasn't a dream after all.

With those words, a Montreal Exposed fan greeted us here at Shea Stadium about an hour ago.

He said, yes, it wasn't a dream.

We won our opening game by the score of 11 to 10 over the New York Mets yesterday.

As the pitchers really got belted around by the hitters,

the hitters taking over for one game only so far.

Quite a contrast from yesterday's opening day here at Shea Stadium.

The color guards are gone.

The dignitaries have returned to their offices,

and most of yesterday's 45,000 fans are back at their desk.

Still, quite a crowd here at Shea Stadium this afternoon just the same.

The skies are clear, the temperature is in the mid-60.

While we have quite a pre-game show lined up for you, including one of the stars of yesterday's

ball game, Rusty Stav.
