Betty Y of Chicago. I've been informed that I have 15 minutes so needless to say you're not going to receive a blow by blow from me.

I spoke at the banquet of the young people's convention when it was in Philadelphia in 1960.

And at that time, I had five years sobriety.

I was 29 years old when I was first taken to AA in New York City back in July of 1956.

So it would appear that this, as I'm 39 now, will be just about the last one where I will be able to qualify in AA.

I have indeed enjoyed this convention.

I've received a great deal out of it.

Probably one of the most important things

that we receive from gathering together

is that as we do 12-step work, I know I am inclined to as we look at our before people, our candidates to AA,

to prejudge and say, oh my, my, I don't think so.

And when we come to these conventions and we see the

afters all of us really should go back to our groups and back to 12-step work

realizing as it is said in AA that indeed nobody is hopeless and that recovery
