the executive sports editor of the Minneapolis Star and Tribune, Mr. Charles Johnson,

who was selected by the baseball commissioner, Ford Crick, for Mr. Johnson's great effort

in getting Major League Baseball here to the upper Midwest.

Mr. Johnson tosses the ball out there to Earl Batty.

And so we'll be hung the way here in just a few moments.

We'll give it to the umpires, and as most of you know, I'm sure,

we will have two extra umpires working the ball game here today along the foul lines.

Umparring at the plate today for the balls and strikes from the American League will be

The third base umpire from the National League Bill Williams.
