as a player and I would say a managerial career.

I'd have to say that that was for a number of people that are elderly,

and that had seen me play baseball and also that I was rather successful as a manager a number of years.

You never lose your enthusiasm for the game.

You get older, like everybody else, gets older too for that matter,

but you never lose your zest, Casey.

Well, no, I feel healthy enough.

I'm strong enough.

I'm quick enough.

If you feel all right, you ought to stay managing,

and if you are a man that doesn't feel well you shouldn't stay

managing in the major leagues you should decide let somebody else do it because a well man always

does a better job case you going into a series like this with one of the teams fighting for a

penitent do you give you a team any pep talk before the series started Well I did the first day. We went over the hitters. Naturally you should do that. You should try to win every day that you've been in the leg. And up to this year, we've had so many difficulties to play a number of the teams. The only team that I think that we bothered was Cincinnati.

In the last series, Cincinnati came in and caught us playing very poor baseball,

and they actually put them back in the pennant race. And then when they come here to St. Louis,

this club here is a good baseball club, well-managed,

and the players are terrific players. And I believe that in this series, the first game,

and it was just unfortunate that hard-hit balls were caught by my receivers, and the pitcher,

Jackson pitched two marvelous a game when it was one to nothing.

The game yesterday, everybody knows that the Cardinals had an off day, and you can't catch,

the pitching had to be poor, because you can't go up into the grandstand and catch the ball.
