A beautiful day here at Yankee Stadium in New York. A bright sun shining.

The temperature, if you're looking for the weatherman's temperature, it's 65 degrees.

On the field, it might be just a little bit warmer because for the Giants, they're down by one game,

and it's Whitey Ford pitching for the Yankees. The Yankees pretty cool, calm, and more or less collected

because they've got their ace going and they've got the bulge.

The shadows will be a big topic of conversation once again this afternoon.

Philippe Ballou, who did such a magnificent job in the outfield for the Giants yesterday,

doesn't seem to be too worried about him, but he'll have shadows to contend with all afternoon.

In fact, talking to Philippe before the ball game, he explained it best when he says,

well, yesterday I played first game in Yankee Stadium, left field.

I have more trouble one game in left field in Yankee Stadium than all season in

right field in Candlestick Park. But he made some defensive plays and the one error that he was

charged with was certainly a tough one to the extent that it took a high hop the ball did. And

Tom Treshwood stopped at second base with some daring base running, took off for third,

and set up what proved to be the big inning for the Yankees.

And the fourth game.

The World Series is coming up.

And George, I can't think of a more exciting way to get ready for a fourth game than with the great pitching that we've had along the line.

Boy, Joe, we've had tremendous pitching, and we're looking forward to another great pitchers battle here today as a right-hander and a left-hander are getting ready to go at it. All right, George, the umpire is a roundhole played along with Coach Waddy Lockman and manager Ralph Halk of the New York Yankees. Wadie Ford continues to warm up. Whitey with a 10 and 4 World Series record, 17 and 8 on the season.

This is his first World Series start.

The lineups for the San Francisco Giants leading off will be Harvey Keene in right field.
