Monte Moore is on the K-CMO radio mic.

The game begins in the bottom of the third with Doug Fister at that for Kansas City.

The Tigers Hank Aguirre is on the mound. The lineups go as follows. For the visiting Tigers,

Chico Fernandez in shortstop, Billy Bruton and Center Field, Al Keline in right field, Rocky

Calavito in left field, Norm cash at first base Tim McAuliffe at second base

Steve Burros at third

Dick Brown is catching, and Hank Aguirre is on the mound.

For the athletics, Bobby Del Greco is in centerfield, Geno Somolee, right field, Jerry Lumpy at

second base, Norm Seaburn at first base,

Ed Charles at third base,

Bill Kern in left field, Wayne Causey at shortstop, Haywood Sullivan catching, and Doug Fister teaching.

In 1962, after eight awful seasons

and diminishing attendance in Kansas City, Charlie Finley attempted to move the athletics to Dallas, Texas.

However, the other owners were unwilling to let him make the move.

And the athletics were forced to stay in Kansas City where their struggles continued during a 72 and 90 season in which they finished in ninth place.
