to Wadachi and shortly after joining the Wattie Club pitched a one hitter.

Now in this, only his second year of professional baseball, 21-year-old right-hander from

Fayetteville, North Carolina,

has hurled a one hit shutout, and he knocked off one of the classiest pitchers in baseball this

year in the knuckleballing right-hander of the Cincinnati Reds Bob Perky.

Quite a feat for young Cal Coons, a 21-year-old right-hander.

Today's game was certainly no flute for him.

He has pitched well all year.

He now has won eight games while losing only two.
