The Yankees won yesterday's series opener and as we get set for game number two, it's a mild pleasant sunny afternoon here in New York.

Before coming up to the broadcasting booth I check with the rival managers Ralph

Howick of New York and Freddie Hutchinson of Cincinnati.

And we have some interesting disclosures for this afternoon's starting lineups for both sides.

First of all, for the New York Yankees, to send it on Mickey Mantle's condition.

And Mantle is out of the lineup once again this afternoon.

Ralph Hough told me that Mantle's strength is coming coming back but that his hip still pains and still hurts and

Ralph added to me that it is now problematical at the moment whether or not Madel

will or will not be in the starting lineup on Saturday when that game gets on the way.

Mickey is available for pin shooting duties if needed this afternoon.

Now, after speaking to Ralph Howl, I went over to the Reds

dugout and I was writing down the starting lineup for Cincinnati when Freddie
