You know, there's 31st All-Star Baseball Classic

featuring the great stars of the National League

versus the stars of the American League.

This is the second all-star game to be played here at Fenway Park.

The first one was played back in 1946.

And that marked the start of a long career of outstanding performances in All-Star played by Ted Williams, the man who will

throw out the first ball here today. It is the third All-Star game to be played in Boston.

Ten years before that, in 1936, they played one at Braves Field.

This is the second All-Star game of the year.

The first game was played at Candlestick Park in San Francisco

and was won by the National League 5 to 4 in 10 innings.

We have a beautiful day here in Boston for the game.

The skies are perfectly clear. The temperature is

75 degrees. The relative humidity at 64 percent. And we have an east, northeast wind at 10 to 15

miles per hour. In this All-Star series, the American League has won 16 games.

The National League is won 14.
