This is quite an historic date in the career of one Charles Dillon Casey Stengel.

For today, Marks, 50 years since Casey broke into professional baseball.

It was on May 10, 1910, but Spengel played his first game.

On that date, Sp Singo played center field for

Kentucky

of the Northern Association

against Jacksonville.

Casey's debut in organized baseball

was with a base hit.

He had a single,

stole the base,

but his ball club lost the game

three to two.

O'Kee has seen a powerful lot of baseball in the last five decades,

and quite an anniversary, and quite a record that Mr. Stengel has compiled,

not only as a manager of the most successful team in baseball,

but they are Yankees,

but also a very fine record as a player.

50 years, and so our congratulations to Casey Spengel.

I wonder if he can remember all the details of that first ball game.
