Summary

We are now AWARE but what do we do NOW? Dr. Safiyah Satterwhite grew up in brooklyn in the 80s and she was taught that If you don’t like how something is,  it is up to you to change it.

That understanding and ownership served her well - she has been not just super successful with her business, but she has initiated change in so many areas.

Our intentions for our conversation on Leveling Up Today were very specific:

Address how we can have a conscious coming together to initiate change?

Dr. Satterwhite pointed out that we have GOT to start seeing ourselves in the stories of others. You see, As we rise up in business, health, relationships, actually all areas of our lives, empathy decreases- the higher up in status we get, the more detached we also get from reality.

It is neither of our beliefs that the majority of people have bad intentions. It is this conversation with her today that I ask “Where do we go from now. Now that our eyes are open what do we do.”

Join in today and learn exactly how Dr. Safiya Satterwhite levels us up

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How race plays a roll in everything
  • How you should approach racism
  • How can we begin to heal as a nation

Thank you so much for being here today with me. Oh, I am so

0:39.9

happy to be here. Thank you so much for having me. Now, I did not actually know her work at all

0:46.5

until this last week. And the reason I got to know her work and started following her and have her

0:53.6

on the show right now is because of the message

0:55.9

that she sent me through Instagram about a week ago. And that message was incredible. She

wrote, and I don't have it exactly in front of me right now, but she basically said,

1:05.3

Natalie, I see your heart. I see what you're trying to do. I see that you're opening up.

I would love to make myself available

1:11.0

to help any way that I can. And this came after a lot of messages where I felt like I couldn't

1:18.8

do anything right, where I was trying so hard with the right intentions to create awareness

1:23.7

and couldn't do anything right. And your message just really made me feel well. I left you a voice message back right away. And I said, hey, I know it's not your job to make me feel

1:31.3

better, but thank you. And I want to take you up on that. So thank you. Yeah. No, thank you for being so

1:36.9

open to it and for just being available. You know, we all are in the same place right now where everyone,

black, black,

1:49.9

white, Asian has been, everyone's trying to figure out what's our place, what do we do,

1:56.6

how can we step into this, how can we rise? And so coming together and having these kinds of conversations, I think, are a huge first step. Yeah. And that's why I'm so grateful that you're
