And so the Brooklyn Dodgers had rung the curtain down for 1957.

And for the city of Brooklyn, New York, it was indeed the end.

For the Dodgers opened up their 1958 season as the Los Angeles Dodgers,

a move that to this day prays on the minds of their remaining Flatbush faithful. But time and change indeed march on.

Vince Scully and Jerry Dogget accompanied the Dodgers to Los Angeles

and immediately endeared themselves to the city of Angels.

Oops, I mean Dodgers.

After the Dodgers very successful

1959 season, a highlight record was produced, narrated by Ira Cook and Steve

Bailey. Included was the night Sandy Kofax struck out 18 batters, which brings up an

interesting piece of trivia. Who was the last man to throw a pitch in a Brooklyn

Dodger uniform?

As you just heard, Sandy Kofax is the answer, and the pitch, strike three.
