Well, for the first game of the 1945 World Series here at Ridley Field in Chicago,

we have something that may turn out to be not to our liking, because the guys right now are very

dark, more than threatening, and they're very overcast. The temperature is in the 70s,

and we have a slight wind going from behind home plate out towards center field.

But the rain has been falling since about 1 o'clock.

And, of course, it necessitates our waiting slightly to see whether or not this ballgame is actually going to get underway.

And of course, the thousands that have poured in here to Rickley Field in Chicago are sincerely hoping that this ball game the first in this 45 series here in the city of Chicago will get underway beautiful Wrigley Field.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, before this ballgame does get underway, I should like to turn right around here and introduce to you once more. A very favorite personality of mine and I know the thousands of you listening in.
