Gillette presents the World Series.

From the Yankee Stadium in New York this afternoon,

we bring you the third game of the 1942 World Series

as a feature of the Gillette Safety Razor

Company's year-round cavalcade of sports, which embraces the Kentucky Derby, the football

bowl games New Year's Day, all major boxing bouts, month after month, and other sports

events of national interest. This is Mel Allen speaking for Gillette over the mutual network, the Canadian Broadcasting

Corporation, and hundreds of affiliated stations, plus the shortwave outlet's WGEO and WGEA's

connectedly, KGEI San Francisco, which beam these games to our armed forces abroad.

Now, this third game of the 1942 World Series

is played by the National and American League

and the St. Louis and New York Clubs

as the agent for the USO, the United Service Organization.

It's a jam-packed stadium today, seizing with tremendous excitement, generated by those two hectic

games that started the series rolling in swell shape out in St. Louis. And today, the Yankees

will present a revamped lineup as a result of Cardinal manager Billy Southworth's choice of Ernie

White, a left-hander, as his pitching nomination.

So in the background, we hear the folks laughing, and it's Al-Chack entertain.

But here quickly are the starting lineup for today's game for the Pink Millis Cardinals.

No change from the lineup to which they presented the first two games outside the pitcher.

It's Jimmy Brown leading off-playing second base. Terry Moore hitting second playing center field. Enoslater batting third right field. Dan Musial in the cleanup spot left field. Walker Cooper hitting fifth catching. Johnny Hopp. hitting six playing first base. Whitey Kurowski, whom we thought might be out of action because of a slight injury to his throwing arm in the second game,
