Buonogno, chal friends. Welcome to your weekly virtual trip to Italy and one where we are headed back to beautiful Puglia, the region found in the southeastern corner of Italy's boot.

We are resuming our usual programming from today and I'm so excited that you're going to find out all about Leche, a gorgeous Baroque city

that is sometimes called the Florence of the South. Now, I'm not sure why though, because Leche

has a unique and fascinating character and charm all of its own, and best of all, it's a city

that has layers that unfold before your very eyes,

from Roman ruins to elegant palazzi and beautiful gardens.

And speaking of layers, one of the specialty foods of the city is a very delicious flaky pastry

called Arustico Lechese, which is filled with bechamel sauce and tomato. And doesn't that sound delicious?

But I digress.

Today, we're welcoming our friend, Paolo, back onto the show, to tell us all about his

hometown Lece.

Paolo has been on the show a couple of times now, and we always enjoy his passion and

insight into the wonders of Pulia.
