Jason was born in Kansas City to a drummer father and primarily raised by his mother and stepfather.

He balances a clever, angular sensibility with a deep swinging pocket and a massive sound.

He's uniquely gifted in making unexpected choices sound organic and powerful.

Aside from his work in Shiner, Jason has played with bands such as Molly McGuire,

Season of Risk, Gunfighter, and The Birth Defects.

For a time, he also subbed for next week's guest, Brian St. Pier, in Hum.

I'm still friends with him, but he didn't take me to soccer games or any of that stuff.

So he's a sperm donor, bio dad. Oh, dad oh yeah yeah was that the agreement or not i

no they were married oh they're a minute but he's a musician and he's kind of like me oh interesting

so yeah that didn't last very long and they tried it three more times and those also did not last

very long oh he got married four times.
