Happy Friday, my friends.

Oh, we have made it through this week.

And maybe this week has been a really long week.

Maybe it's been a really hard, trying, difficult week.

Or maybe this week has been full of blessings and answered prayers and breakthroughs.

Ah, what a beautiful new day of life God has given us. I'm honored that I get to help you start this day right. Today we're going to take a break from our study of Revelation.

Yay, God, for giving us a little mini break. And we're going to do a devotional that is just

perfectly timed for this season. The title of today's episode of the Big Life Devotional

podcast is praying in circles. So my friends have been sending me all those priceless back-to-school photos of their children.

Just this week, I saw Ava's first day of preschool and Grayson's move-in day at college.

And while it seems a lifetime will separate those two photos starting pre-K and going away to

college, us older moms know just how fast it all goes. We only have these kids home with us for a short

time and then they're gone. The year will come when there are no

back-to-school shoes to buy, no school supplies to stress over, no first-day send-offs.

And please listen to me. That's the goal. The goal is to raise those babies and watch them fly right out of the

nest. The goal isn't to keep them home forever. Mama, you got to let them go. This is success.

All too often, I hear from moms who are struggling to let their grown man child be a man.

They're holding on to this fully capable young woman as if she's still a little girl who needs her pigtails tightened.
