Hey there, how are your tomato plants doing? If you're like most home gardeners, you have a few

growing in your garden or 50 or so. I think I lost count. But the point is most people have

tomatoes growing in their gardens. And depending on where you live, I know where I am,

early July, and sometimes late June, is when my tomato harvest just starts coming on.

So it is tomato season. So I thought today would be a perfect time to continue in our very

popular series called What Can Go Wrong? And we can explore some of the most common things that go

wrong in growing tomatoes. Here's the thing I have made no secret of,

and if you're a beginning gardener, you need to hear this. Growing tomatoes is not easy. I don't think any

gardener should gauge his or her success as an early gardener by how they grow tomatoes. Because you just never know. There are so many

different things that can go wrong with tomato plants, and usually most of them are overcomable

to some degree. But you can get discouraged if you're assuming that you'll have these wonderful,

beautiful tomato plants with no disease or no growth problems

or no insects, that's usually just not reality. But that doesn't mean you won't get a good

harvest. And so that's why I want to talk to you about the most common things that I have

seen that can go wrong in tomato plants. There's no way to discuss them all,

but at the end of the episode, I'll give you some resources that you can go to to try to

troubleshoot and identify some things if you're finding yourself having an issue that I haven't

discussed today. But my goal for today's episode is to give you a brief overview of some of the most common

problems with tomatoes and what you can do to prevent or overcome them to have a great

tomato harvest this year.
