Have you ever considered how your personality affects what kind of a gardener you are?

What kind of a garden you create?

How you deal with setbacks.

How you succeed.

That's one of those things that I really never thought about until the last few years.

And I realized that every garden is different because every gardener is different.

And so we are in the middle of the summer right now. I wanted us to take a step back from all the

how-toes and give you a little bit of a break from that. And let's talk about you. Let's talk about you

as a person, as a gardener. And to do that,

I'm actually going to go kind of back to my roots. Have you ever had a hobby that you enjoyed

as a youth or as a college student or as a little kid and life got in the way or you took a different

path and you found yourself now still

enjoying that hobby or that interest. Well, that's the case for me today. You probably know that my

major in college was psychology, but what you don't know is that one of my favorite things to study

was personality theory.

In fact, my senior year, I worked for my professor and I helped him in his private practice to help do psychological testing.

And I was going to go into graduate school after I graduated college to become a psychological examiner.

That was my goal.

But what changed is that,

you guessed it, I took another personality inventory and it showed me that my strengths were more

in a different area, in business specifically. So I thought instead of spending all the money

and time for graduate school, let's just pursue this because my minor was in business and really the rest is history.
