Yeah, I think he means that ironically. It sounds like an American life, it sounds like a somewhat typical American life, but I don't know if it sounds like a good American life.

I'm going to add Dupa, who is a friend of the podcast. I'd like to interview Ed at some point. Maybe when I put together this podcast tour I've been cooking out. I'm going to buy a van.

In fact, this week's guest, my uncle Dan, hopefully is going to help me purchase an outfit of an that I will then use to drive around the United States of America and interview fascinating folks who are all over the place in that beautiful tragic, strange land.

So that's Ed Dupa. I played that because it's the 4th of July. It's just after the 4th of July and also because the shit is hitting the fan in America.

And did I know some of you probably get annoyed listening to me, bitching and whining about America, but please understand that it's motivated by grief.

Every fucking day there's another massacre. I grew up in America. There's a lot about America that I love. It's the most beautiful.

It contains some of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I've been all over this planet and it contains some of the sweetest, kindest, most interesting people that you're going to find anywhere.

The bad man, it's the end of the road. The shit's hitting the fan over there. And it's very difficult to see. It's very difficult to see what happens when a culture is completely co-opted by corporate interests.

And that's what's happened. The fundamental difference between European society and I can't speak about Asian societies because I don't understand them. I don't speak an Asian language. I can't claim to know what the fuck is going on in a place like Thailand or China or whatever.

Although it certainly looks like China is suffering from the same affliction as the United States, which is when a culture is completely dominated by corporate interests.

It's no longer oriented toward wellness. It's no longer oriented toward taking care of people. It's all about profit.
