Today, the Bible Study podcast continues the study of Revelation with chapter 10.

Welcome to the Bible Study podcast.

I'm your host, Chris Christensen, back from Egypt and a little time off, also back from

having a cold and from celebrating Thanksgiving. And the only mention I'll probably make of my

Egypt trip on this show is it was very interesting to stand at the temple in Karnak in Luxor

and see in Great Big Stone the Egyptian portion or the Egyptian point of view of a story that is told in Second Kings of the King of Egypt coming down and making war against the people of Israel.

During the reign, I believe, of Rehoboam.

So very interesting to see that written out, and that is one of the ways that we can date

some of the biblical accounts is from this historic record.

We continue on today with Revelation 12.

The woman and the dragon.

A great sign appeared in the heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

Then another sign appeared in heaven, an enormous red dragon with seven heads, and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of

the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was

about to give birth so that it might devour her child at the moment he was born. She gave birth to a son,

a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron

scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. The woman fled in the wilderness

to a place prepared for her by God where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days. Then war broke out in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the dragon,

and the dragon and his angels fought back.

But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
