Summary
In August of 2019, the New York Times inaugurated the 1619 Project. Their goal was to offer a new origin story of the American Republic. They argued that 1776 is not the origin of America as we know it, but rather, 1619, the year the first slaves were brought to American shores, as our true origin. They, of course, sought to link every supposed evil and ill of the 21st century with the racist heritage of 1619, America's “real” birthday.
If you want to understand what ideas and individuals brought us third trimester abortions, infanticide, euthanasia, pornographic quote, sex ed, critical race theory, transgenderism, transitioning of children, drag queen story hours and arresting pro-life sidewalk counselors, you've got to go back not to 1619, but to 1916, a year that my guest today says represents nothing less than civilization's pivot point. Seth Gruber is the founder of the White Rose Resistance and he's here today to talk about his new book and film, 1916. You guys buckle up. This was a fantastic conversation. You're gonna be encouraged.
NOTE: This may be a difficult conversation for children, so I recommend listening ahead of time.
