When you think about Microsoft, do you think about Python?

Maybe not, but you probably should.

They've been doing an incredible amount of work to improve Python for folks on Windows

as well as the broader community.

You can, of course, look at the wild growth of Visual Studio Code, but did you know that

five of the core developers work there and that the majority of Python development actually happens

Steve, welcome back to Talk Python. Thanks for having me back. Yeah, it's great to have you back. There's so many interesting things that you're doing, and you've been really instrumental in

pushing Python on its most popular platform, actually on Windows. And I think you actually have a few

interesting surprises for the listeners. So I'm really excited about what we're going to talk about.

But let's set the stage by just talking about what you do day to day. You're a Python core

developer and you work at Microsoft. Take it from there. Yeah. So I really get two hats in most

conversations. I'm either wearing my Microsoft hat or my C Python hat. And I feel like most times when I come and chat with you, I'm normally wearing the

Microsoft hat, which is fun.

And that's certainly the one I have on today.

So for C-Python, I'm one of the Windows experts, do a lot of the Windows support and

builds and everything.
