Disappointing me for you, it's just me introducing this week's episode, but don't worry, you

will hear Ed in the rest of it.

On the day when we would usually record he was in his constituency in Donkasten North wearing

a rosette, knocking on doors, thrusting leaflets into people's hands, kissing babies, and

I should point out that all of this was in support of the local elections, not just his

latest hobby.

Now, I am well aware that nobody wants to hear me droning on if Ed isn't here, so I'll

keep this as mercifully short as possible, I'll give you my reason to be cheerful.

It is Lindsay, who runs Ed's office.

Basically his life too.

She had a significant birthday this week, I will spare her blushes, and not say which

one, but you have got Lindsay to thank for the fact that Ed turns up to do this podcast

week in, week out, and even the fact that he does so with his shoelaces tied.

It's all down to Lindsay, she is the best, so happy birthday, Lindsay.
