Let’s pause and get on the same page. Language plays a crucial role in shaping culture and creating a sense of familiarity and understanding. And, a word used quite often in our conversations here is integration. What does it mean and why does it matter?
In 1 Thessalonians 5: 23 we see, “May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together - spirit, soul, and body - and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ.”
We are all on a journey toward more wholeness, more integration. Let’s define integration under our Biblical lens, particularly as we look at our bodies and sexuality through a more celebratory view. Let’s continue to uproot misconceptions and shame that lead to disintegration and disconnection as we learn to lean in to the stirring of God toward more healing and wholeness.
