The Sears Roebuck and Co-incorporated Consumer's Guide, Number 104, published in 1897. That's right, it's the Sears catalog. And tonight we're going to learn

all about the wondrous tools available to the modern farmer.

Let's begin.

The growth of our Agricultural Implementation Department the past few years has been phenomenal. It has grown until it now ranks among our largest departments.

Our sales of agricultural implements of every kind are very great in number and extend into every state and territory in the Union.

There is nothing in the Union. There is nothing in the line of strictly high-grade agricultural implements that we cannot

furnish and at a savings of from 25 to 50 percent in price.

Big profits to manufacturer, wholesaler, and retailer have heretofore compelled the farmer to pay

two prices for everything in the implement line, And our farmer customers know too well that the

excessive prices asked for agricultural implements are responsible for many a mortgage which

industrious farmers are laboring under.

The old system of handling agricultural implements is very expensive and works great injury to the farmer.

The actual cost of producing an implement seems to have had no bearing

whatever on the price that would be finally asked by the retailer.
