of promise and a sense of growth and you know as those things evaporate that's when things start

we noticed a bunch of people over break we're catching up with episodes loved our episode of

Mark where we really got into it so in honor of that we decided to have an episode which led to

a lot of disagreement something we're going to do more going into the new year the book

is the next civil war dispatches from the American future by comedian journalist Stephen

Marsh Saga I know you disagree to this one what was this conversation about?

Yeah this is a tough one for me personally Stephen is convinced wholeheartedly based on what he

calls experts and models at that America is destined for another civil war there's no way out of it

the institutions are rotting the episode is really us challenging him saying what is actually

different from so many different periods of civil strife today his answer seems to be that

it's simply inevitable it is just different this time people just feel you know angry and upset

and they don't have any pathways out it's not a secret and I challenge him quite heavily whenever

during this episode I just don't believe that the case to be whatsoever I don't think that we're

living a particularly unique strife time the whole point about history is that it does rhyme

and civil war is a very rare for a reason I don't know what do you think Marshall?
