Summary
Sam Cila, leader at The Program, is a Retired Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He served with the “Fighting 69th” Infantry Regiment out of New York City and the First Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood Texas, and also worked in Army Special Operations. Sam served combat tours in Iraq in 2004-2005, and was decorated with awards for valor in combat as well as a Purple Heart. His life took a drastic turn when he was injured on July 4th, 2005. Dedication to team and selfless service has helped Sam attack many challenges. He is an elite-level endurance athlete, 2x member of the USA Para National triathlon team, an Ironman World championship finisher, and a high altitude mountaineer, but most importantly he is a husband and a father. Mara and Sam talk about how he decided to join the military, how going off to Iraq was the hardest decision of his life, how to tackle the challenge of 2020 and how you can't leave smart people out in the woods. Sam is probably the most inspiring person I've ever met and everyone should check out his social media.
