I want to start off by saying that I've been blessed in my health. I've been healthy. I think we're at the margins of sort of what, it's not that it's not important. I just want to acknowledge that there are a lot of people out there who have legitimate real health problems.

But I had as a middle-aged man put on weight, it's easier to see it in retrospect looking back on photographs, but I had gained 20 or 25

pounds since college probably.

And you know, you don't really notice it it like you don't feel it

other than like when clothes don't fit and so it bothered me

it bothered me enough that I think you know five or six years ago I started trying to play around with

a form of intermittent fasting so I started time restricted eating and I think I lost about 10 pounds

over at that time and I've continued to do that mostly because I was just never hungry in the morning and so it was easy for me to do.

And so probably about two years ago I was playing around, so I actually, three or four years ago I joined the advisory

board of a company based in San Francisco called Verda Health and they use the ketogenic diet
