who would go on to become a serial killer known as the Sunday morning slasher. But, despite his arrest,

police needed to broker a deal in order to get the full picture of how many victims he truly had.

A deal that almost allowed this man to walk free.

Carl Eugene Watts was born on November 7th in 1953. Around the age of 12, Carl began

fantasizing about killing girls and young women. He also began stalking girls, and it is believed

that he killed his first victim before he was even 15.

He spent a lot of his adolescents in and out of mental hospitals

and exhibited many violent outbursts, including attacking a woman on his paper route,

just to see what it felt like to hurt someone.

In 1974, he took his fantasies and made them a reality, when, at 20, he began his life

as a serial killer.

His first victim, though not proven, was believed to be 16-year-old Jean Odell, who

went missing in August of 1974.

Her body, however, was never found.
