Hello listeners welcome to the show I'm excited this is the week I'm launching

0:06.1

stand-up science my new live show complete with me other scientists, and you get to be involved as well all alive,

0:17.5

October 11th in Madison.

0:21.2

And then the following week I'll be in Minneapolis Chicago and Milwaukee and then

0:26.4

Des Moines after that coming up in November Portland Seattle and Tacoma all trying these giving it a fair shake that's eight cities seeing if it works I don't expect the show to necessarily take hold in every single city

0:42.0

Figuring out the marketing of it figuring out what shows are going to be

0:48.8

or what cities are going to be the easiest to get guests. Getting guests for these shows has been extremely

0:56.2

time consuming, more time consuming than here we are a podcast, which is quite a bit of work in and of itself.

1:04.7

So it's been a lot of work but it's been fun.

1:06.6

I've been enjoying it.

1:07.8

It's been a good test and I would love to do more.

1:12.0

Like I said before, you may not be in any of those cities, but you know people that are

1:17.4

there and they're all as pragmatically as possible testing this out in small 150 seat venues. All that needs to happen is for

1:26.2

me to fill up one of those venues that will be a successful show that will mean that it is going to be economically viable and there's

1:35.8

enough interest in town and I've been able to get the scientists and know enough

1:40.7

things have clicked into place for me to pursue this further. So any of those shows

1:45.4

that fill up mean that I will rebook the show three months later in an effort to make it a

1:52.1

quarterly show in that city and I will add a

1:56.8

new city for each one of these first eight shows during this trial run of this tour I will add a new city to try out so if

2:07.4

we get one working add another one and try that out again I don't expect all these

2:12.2

cities to necessarily work out, but if enough of them

2:15.8

do, this is something that could really be scaled up and I want to take all over the country.
