Hey, everybody, we got a great one today.

You know, for a change, author Joe Connison on his new book,

The Longest Conn, How Grifters, Swindlers, and Frauds Highjacked American Conservatism.

It traces how the modern right-wing movement, Donald Trump, very much

included, always had its roots in corruption. Coniston traces how right-wing grifters

exploited American's fears of communism. It's no coincidence that the first chapter of the book

is about Roy Cohen, Donald Trump's mentor, who taught Trump how to rip off people, from contractors for his buildings and casinos to contributors to the Trump Foundation, to students at Trump University, and then use the presidency to pocket huge sums of money.

It's a story that starts in the early 50s with Cohn and continues through the decades from

anti-communist evangelicals to crooked right-wing politicos like Roger Stone and Paul Manafort,

from Jerry Falwell producing videos accusing the Clintons of drug dealing and murder. To Pat Robertson's faith healing. There's a woman

in Ohio who's just been cured of her diverticulitis, praise the Lord. And back to Trump and his various pyramid schemes

to how he and his family profiteered off his presidency and his $250 million of fundraising

off his bogus election fraud claims, which he basically pocketed for his personal legal bills.

Meanwhile, back on the 2024 campaign trail, I brought this up last week.

There's this thing where Trump claimed that in some Democratic-run states, not only do

they allow abortion up to nine months, according to him, but also,

but also allow parents to have their newborn executed. Well, a few days ago, Trump identified

one of those states. At the same time, the Democrats are radical because the nine months is just a ridiculous situation

where you can do an abortion in the ninth month.

And, you know, some of the states like Minnesota and other states have it where you

could actually execute the baby after birth.

I wonder why you picked Minnesota.
