Hello everyone. Welcome to another episode of Sleep and Relax ASMR.

This episode we are learning about the year of 1865.

This is a series that I haven't really quite named.

But basically I just pick a year and we start learning about some events, births, deaths.

Not often deaths just because it's kind of a gloomy way to end each episode, but certainly some noteworthy events and yeah we learn

about together for some of you it will be so boring listening to you events that occurred in 1865 that you'll fall asleep.

And if you do, fantastic, just make sure you're not driving, obviously, or doing anything dangerous like that but that should be so without

having to repeat it so anyway again the year is 1865.

1865 was a common year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar and a common year

starting on Friday of the Julian calendar, the 1,865th year of the common

area, a common era, CE, and Anno Domini AB designations.

The 865th year of the second millennium, the 65th year of the 19th century, the 6th year of the 1860s decade.

As of the start of 1865, the Gregorian calendar was 12 days ahead of the Julian calendar, which remained in localized

use until 1923.

And so we start with January of course.

The fourth, the New York Stock Exchange opens its first permanent headquarters at 10-12 Broad near Wall Street

in New York City.

January 13th, American Civil War, Second Battle of Fort Fisher.

U.S. forces launched a major amphibious assault against the last seaport held by the Confederates Fort Fisher, North Carolina.

Two days later, American Civil War, U.S. forces capture Fort Fisher.

Very last day of January, the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Conditional prohibition of slavery and involuntary servitude passes narrowly in the House of Representatives.
