Summary

In today’s episode, Dr. Gray and I discuss all things related to eye health that I think everyone should hear. Here are my top three takeaways from our conversation:  Dr. Gray highlights that eye health is more than prescriptions, emphasizing a holistic approach with proper nutrition and lifestyle choices. Key nutrients like vitamins A, C, E, and omega-3s combat oxidative stress and inflammation, helping prevent eye diseases. Our bodies are designed to thrive without over-reliance on medication!  With rising screen time, many parents worry about its impact on their kids. Dr. Gray explains that excessive screen use can lead to myopia but balancing it with outdoor activities helps. Studies show kids who spend more time outside have slower myopia progression. So, let’s encourage outdoor play and sunlight.  Regular eye exams are crucial, even without glasses. Dr. Gray shares a story of a young girl whose eye exam detected an invasive cancer early, highlighting the importance of routine exams to catch potential issues. Bio: Dr. Collin Gray was born and raised in Lehi Utah. He attended Lehi High school where he played for the state championship soccer team in 2010.
