Hello everybody and welcome to Books Unbound, the podcast where we unbind books

0:14.1

to get their hearts with your host, Suss.

0:17.3

It's Ariel A.

0:18.2

Really?

0:19.1

Hey!

0:26.2

Hello, everybody. All right, We have a good episode today. I have a wacky story. Yeah, I've been waiting two weeks to hear this story because we recorded with Reagan

0:33.4

and Monica last week and so we didn't do our regular updates. So I have no idea. Ariel's been teasing something, but I have no idea what it is. And I've been dying.

0:41.8

You know that funny? Like as content creators, we'll like, we'll like tease things in our show.

0:48.8

Yeah. Like on our podcast or whatever. Or like on Instagram coming soon. But I do that with Raylene.

0:54.0

Or I'm just like one, I'm just teasing content for one person. I'm like, Raylene. Just, just wait until the next episode. And you know what's funny? I feel like we haven't been, like, texting as much the past couple of weeks. It's almost like you've just like put up this wall. And so it's like, okay, I can't talk to her. I just can't, like, we don't get to, we don't get to communicate until the secret is out.

0:54.4

I just realized that just now, I'm like, okay, I can't talk to her. I just can't, like, we don't get to, we don't get to

1:10.9

communicate until the secret is out. I just realized that just now, I'm like, wait a minute, we've, like, barely communicated. So I don't even know what's going on. I feel like the last few weeks, they've been so hectic for us. Yes. And then, um, the other fun thing today is that we are going to be doing a quarterly stats check-in.

1:12.1

Yeah.

1:12.5

So the reason for this

1:30.8

is twofold. Number one, we just think it'll be fun. But number two, we got some positive friendly

1:36.6

feedback late last year when people were like, we love hearing about the goals that you guys

1:42.8

said at the beginning of the year. And it'd be fun if we kind of, if you guys updated us like every so often as opposed to just at the end of the year, we just find everything out. And we're like, that's so true. Plus, you know, the best way to actually achieve a goal is to keep checking in on it and not forgetting. Is to one, remember that you made the goal. Number one, remember it. And yeah, I've been doing a pretty good job with that because you suggested this to me, actually, it was that on my spreadsheet where I track all of my reading, I've like along the right side put what my goals are. So every time I open my spreadsheet, I see those goals. So they're always like on the top of my mind, which in past years they have not been. Let me just say. Yeah. It's a good strategy. It's a very good strategy. And then yeah, so I think it's going to be a good episode today. I'm excited. And like Raylene said, we haven't chatted in a little while. I feel like both of us are, I feel like maybe it's a little bit of the like spring, it's not spring cleaning energy, but it's a little bit that where it's like, it feels like life is starting again. Yeah. Like we're all leaving our slumber a little bit and things are like picking up and becoming a little bit. Yeah, I have done a little bit of spring cleaning though the other day. I was just like, you know what? this closet that's been kind of a mess ever since we moved into this house. Today is the day that this changes. And so we just like pulled everything out of the closet. We had like eight different sets of sheets. And we were like, whoa, I don't remember having all of these. So let's get rid of some blankets. Like we just had so much crap. And so it felt really good to just like unload that. So I've

3:07.9

got like three garbage bags full of stuff to donate, which felt really good just to like get that out of that closet. But that's all I've done so far. I'm really excited to tackle our backyard now that the weather's starting to look nice. Like our backyard from all the moisture and snow and everything over the past few months, there's just like tons of moss. And I'm like, let's get rid of that moss. That's all over my ground. That's got to go. Likin. Lots of lichen. So yeah, I'm really excited to get outside now that it's, I don't think it's going to snow again. Like it looks like we're past it finally. I think we can say spring has sprung but I don don't know. I don't know yet. That's a tough one. That's a tough one. It's March 20th. Good Lord. Really? I swear to God, I thought I was going to look at that. I thought it was going to say March 14th. God, I wish. March 14th, I'm living a week behind. And even March 14th feels, feels crazy to me. I'm like,

3:57.7

how are we at the end of March?

3:58.8

I know.

3:59.2

It was Cal birthday yesterday, and it's like, yes. Like, how is it already the 19th and now 20th? Like, this is crazy. How is it March? How is it almost the end of March? I don't understand. How is it almost the end of March? Yeah, that is wild. That's genuinely wild to me. And it's been such,

4:15.6

it was such a mild, um, winter here for the most part. It was like, I mean, remember in like
