Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories Podcast. I am your host for today, John

Delinn. It's January 29th, 2024 and we are super excited to have a moment of cautious celebration.

The title of this episode is

Collings in Sacramento for married gay Mormons

and just to give a tiny bit of an overview,

for over a decade on Mormon stories,

we've covered that the Mormon Church

has a long, long history of excommunicating

same-sex married couples, and we've interviewed

four or five of them on Mormon Stories Podcast alone.

Latter Gay Stories Podcast has covered that as well.

It's just been the longstanding policy of the church,

Mormon Church, that when they find out you got same sex married, you're toast, you're

excommunicated.

Well, recently we've been able to confirm through intelligence and through sources that we know of at least five or six legally same sex

married couples who are actively attending their Mormon wards. They are

taking the sacrament. At least some of them have

callings, and it's known by their Bishop and State President that this is

happening. And we think it's really important news. And so we're cautiously celebrating this really important

moment in Mormon history and joining us to discuss.
