LDS Discussions Edition. I am one of your hosts for today, John Delin.

It is January 10th, 2024, Happy New Year, and we are excited to bring back in 2024, the LDS

discussion series. For those of you don't know what that is, this amazing co-panelist,

Mike, put up a website called LDS discussions a few years back sharing his analysis of

Mormon Church Claims and it's a series that's got I don't know 40 or 50 episodes now and it's well loved and

today we're going to be covering part two of a three-part series on Joseph Smith's

puppet or right-hand man in Navu, John C. Bennett.

Last LDS discussions episode, we talked about the rise and fall of John C. Bennett in him

acting as Joseph Smith's puppet in Navu. rise and

the fall of John C. Bennett and him acting as Joseph Smith's puppet in Navu as mayor and and as you know head of the legion and head of the

university and all the different jobs that he had.

Today we're going to be talking about his involvement in spiritual wifery or polygamy

and the scandalous question or allegation that he was an abortionist in Nahu,

which speaks to, you know, this question of birth control and polygamy

and can even touch for some on the topic of, you know, why didn't Joseph Smith have offspring

if he had sex with his polygamous wives and of course one of the possibilities is is that abortions are being performed.

So we're going to look at the evidence and the data for that and you can decide

whether you think that's plausible.
