Summary

In a sleepy town in Rode Island people are preparing for Valentine's Day, which can be a difficult time of year for some. It is especially difficult here as another string of grisly murders has popped up so close to the much anticipated Electric Necromancer's concert. Can confused hunk Chet Swain overcome the memory of Terry in order to investigate? Or will the chosen warrior Felicia have to look into it on her own while trying to control her new werecat powers? 0:14.9	Damato and this is our Valentine special. A few years ago One Shot teamed up with
0:20.1	the incredibly talented Spike Trotman to bring you Avery Alders incredible
0:24.4	monster hearts. Since that episode aired we have received repeated requests to
0:29.2	bring the series back. Thanks to a special visit from our friend Sam, we were able to make that happen.
0:34.5	But before I get started, I want to point a couple things out.
0:37.4	The first is there is more than one way to play Monster Hearts.
0:40.8	As many folks pointed out to us, the way that we approach it on the show definitely
0:44.6	uses a much lighter touch.
0:46.6	While Monster Hearts definitely draws influence from sexy monster shows like True Blood and Buffy,
0:51.6	which are fraught with melodrama, there's a deep and introspective
0:55.1	investigation of teenage sexuality at the core of the game.
0:58.6	And nearly every playbook has options for
1:03.8	example the mortal playbook which we use for my character Chet Swain has moves that allow
1:08.8	you to internalize and explain away abuse.
1:11.8	You can draw a direct line from those to some of the more
1:14.2	troubling aspects of teenage monster stories like Twilight. I say all this to point
1:19.2	out that the way that we play Monster Hearts on the show isn't the only way to play Monster Hearts.
