Summary

Recorded live at Comfort Love and Adam Withers' hotel room after Day 1 of New York Comic Con, join Ian and Kris Naudus as they catch up with these two longtime friends of Comic Geek Speak.  As is the case with most of these types of episodes the topics are all over the place and off the cuff, so language, opinions, and tangents are all our own. This includes discussion on how conventions have changed along with the audience attending them since the pandemic, how media itself has adapted and evolved, what it's like for Comfort and Adam returning to NYCC after a three year absence, the age of the average con-goer may be decreasing, what the future may hold for comics, films, publishing and conventions in a world of DC Fandome and similar digital announcements, the demographic difference found on digital platforms like Webtoon and how

Music Welcome one and all to the show. This is Ian, and this is the last of the New York Comic-Con tapes.

As previously stated, we had a lovely conversation with Comfort and Love and Adam Withers that took place at their hotel room, the Thursday

0:55.5

of New York Comic-Con that went way longer than I thought it was going to.

0:59.4

And honestly, I really should have saw it coming because I always wind up talking to

1:02.9

Comfort and Adam for a long period of time, and I hadn't seen them in person in three years,

1:09.3

so we had a lot of catching up to do.

1:12.6

And we most definitely did that on the episode in question here. This one went about, say, probably about an hour and 15 minutes

1:22.2

1:41.2

Let's put it that way.

1:42.4

The views and opinions here are definitely those

1:45.4

of the individual and love it or hate it. We are not pulling our punches on this particular

1:52.6

episode. So just do keep that in mind. It's off the cuff and we mean what we say. And I'm just

2:00.3

going to go ahead and leave it at that.

2:02.8

There is discussion of COVID and the pandemic in this, as well as how it has affected attending conventions, what the future may hold for conventions, what the future may hold for the industry, and also

2:18.7

what it may hold for readers themselves, as well as the age of individuals that are attending

2:24.8

conventions. We go all over the place with this conversation, and I really enjoyed it.

2:31.0

I hope that you guys enjoy it as well. I'm also joined by Chris Nautis on this

2:36.2

episode, as I said. So it's not just Comfort and Adam, but it's also me and Chris. And we've been

2:42.8

editors for Comfort and Adam stuff for years now. I met Comfort and Adam through the

2:50.4

comic Geekspeak community. Pretty sure I've

2:52.4

mentioned that on the show before, but I actually met them at Megacon years ago. And when I did meet them,
