God sent his son to die for us. By obedience to laws and ordinances of the gospel, we pledge our fidelity, our pistice, our faith to Christ.

There's a difference between saying, I was healed by the atonement and saying, I was healed by Jesus Christ.

That's exciting, and that keeps things, I think, interesting. We can be different, but we can work towards positive aims for all people. Hi, Casey. Hello, Scott. How are you? This is the Pearl of Great Price, and yet here we are during a Doctrine and Covenants year. I'm glad we get a chance to talk about this. The

Pearl of Great Price is sort of an anomaly, right? It's got Old Testament stuff in it. It's got New Testament stuff in it. It's got Church History stuff in it. And so you kind of do have to split it up because we don't have a Pearl of Great Price year. It's a grab bag. It's a Curio of curiosities, it's a great, great thing. But I'm glad we get to drop it and talk about

articles of faith and made me realize these are super useful when you're dialoguing with people

from another faith. I'm curious now. What was the occasion? Well, in early October, I attended

the General Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ, also known as the Bictertonites.

That's their nickname.

They, of course, prefer Church of Jesus Christ, just like we prefer Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This is Church of Jesus Christ in Manongah, Hala, Pennsylvania.

And I went to Greenberg, Pennsylvania, where they hold their world conference.

And they are a church that springs from the restoration tradition, but has a number of things that are the same as us.

They believe in the Book of Mormon, things that are different.

They don't believe in the doctrine and covenants.

And as I was trying to find common ground with them, I found myself, you know, walking up and saying,

well, do you believe the book of Mormon to be the word of God and the Bible so far as is translated

correctly? And they'd be like, yeah, I do. And then I'd get into more intense things like, do you

believe that Zion, the new Jerusalem,

would be built upon the American continent and that Jesus Christ will reign personally?
